Adam Goldstein – better known as DJ AM – is getting back behind the turntables as Jay-Z’s deejay just a month after surviving a fiery plane crash that took four lives, he tells PEOPLE exclusively.

“He’s the greatest rapper in the world,” Goldstein, 35, says. “This is the biggest thing that’s happened in my career.”

In his first performance since the Sept. 19 Learjet crash that left him with second and third degree burns on his face and left arm, Goldstein will join Jay-Z at the Hollywood Palladium Wednesday.
