February 22nd, 2010 | By Rick From Chicago

Two new champions were crowned at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view. Chris Jericho claimed his 6th World Heavyweight Title after Shawn Michaels distracted the Undertaker – likely setting up a re-match at WrestleMania to challenge for his undefeated streak.  After John Cena defeated Triple H to become the new WWE Champion, Mr. McMahon ordered Cena to face Batista, who walked away with the WWE title!

The WWE pulled a double swap on their championship titles at the No Way Out PPV.  If you follow this product closely, this PPV had to be one of the weakest cards in quite some time – leading into WrestleMania, their biggest pay-per-view of the year.

This year’s roster is again in transition, they still need the veterans to headline majority of the pay-per-views while the young talent continue to make a name of themselves as they build their following.  Hunter’s 13th title win brings him closer to Ric Flair’s all-time 16 time championship titles record.  Who will The Game face at WrestleMania 25?  For the first time in a long time, the writers have kept quiet on their plans for the main event at ‘Mania.

And judging by Edge’s dramatic win in the Raw main event, it looks as if he is on a collision path to wrestle Randy Orton, who will be the main focal point at ‘Mania.  RKO defeated Shane McMahon last night in a filler match for the NWO card, which like I said was pretty weak (Only 4 matches were promoted).

It seems like the WWE has a lot invested in Edge, in the last 3 years they have put him in the big spots and he has constantly delivered.  On a night where he lost his WWE title in the opening match, the show ended with him winning the World Heavyweight title.  Rey Mysterio was the final participant for the Raw Elimination Chamber match – a good showing despite being a mid-carder for the past few months.

It seems like title changes are happening left and right in the WWE universe.  What’s next for the 25th anniversary of WrestleMania?  We’ll see, but by the looks of things, I don’t think this year’s card will deliver.
